Paolo Magrini. 2003 – Five new Typhloreicheia species from
Sardinia (Coleoptera Carabidae). Boll. Soc. entomol. ital., 135
(3):129-152.

Abstract – In the present note are described five new taxa of Sardinia (Central Italy): T. vignai n. sp. of the Tudurighe Mountain (Sassari); T. consortii n. sp. of three different localities from Gallura (Sassari); T. degiovannii of Figaruia (Bortigiadas, Sassari); T. nadiae of Priatu (Olbia, Sassari); T. cirocchii of Bolotana (Catena del Marghine, Nuoro). The five new species are essentially distinguishable from the other known, in different conformation of aedeagus and copulatory piece. In a map is also summarized the distribution till now of all the taxa of Typhloreicheia known of Sardinia, except the two with ample diffusion species Typhloreicheia denticulata Holdhaus, 1924 and T. jucunda Holdhaus, 1924.

Sergio Facchini. 2003 – Description of Stomis fallettii n. sp. from
Shaanxi (China)(Coleoptera Carabidae). Boll. Soc. entomol. ital.,
135(3):153-157.

Abstract – A new species of Carabidae Pterostichinae from the Chinese province of Shaanxi is here described. Stomis fallettii n. sp. is the sixteenth Stomis known from China and the fourth known from the province of Shaanxi. The new species is peculiar within the genus Stomis by the presence of 2-4 lateral setae at anterior fourth of pronotum instead of one. It shares with S. vignai several important characters: head large, tempora markedly convex, collar constriction marked, mandibles relatively short for the genus, right one without notch in terebral margin. The habitus and male genitalia of the new taxon are illustrated.

Stefano Zoia. 2003 – New data on Italian species of the genus
Parabathyscia (Coleoptera Cholevidae). Boll. Soc. entomol. ital.,
135(3):159-165.

Abstract – A description of Parabathyscia (P.) spinolai n. sp. from Tassarolo (Alessandria) is provided; the new taxon is compared with its relatives P. (P.) wollastoni (Janson, 1857) e P. (P.) genuensis Zoia, 1986 from which it differs mainly for aedeagic characters. New distributional data are reported for P. (P.) avetonensis Jeannel, 1924 and P. (P.) doriai (Fairmaire, 1872). The male of P. (P.) emeryi Jeannel, 1934 is described and this taxon is compared with P. (P.) calabra Pace, 1975, a strictly related form, from which it differs in the slightly stronger punctuation of the pronotum and in some aedeagic features.

Arnaldo Bordoni & Paolo Magrini. 2003 – A new species of
Scotonomus from Sardinia (Coleoptera Staphylinidae). Boll. Soc.
entomol. ital., 135(3):167-171.

Abstract – Scotonomus consortii sp. n. from Sardinia, Mt. Tuttavista (Nuoro), very closely related to S. raymondi Fauvel but differing in the structure of the aedeagus, is described. The following new synonymy is proposed: Scotonomus latinus Coiffait, 1970 = S. etruscus Saulcy, 1878.

Key words: Scotonomus, new species, new synonymy, Sardinia.

Arnaldo Bordoni, Paolo Magrini & Fulvio Cirocchi. 2003 -
Lathrobium montiscuccoi sp. n. from Umbria (Coleoptera
Staphylinidae). Boll. Soc. entomol. ital., 135(3):173-176.

Abstract – Lathrobium montiscuccoi sp. n. from Monte Cucco (Umbria, Italy), very closely related to L. spadiceum Erichson, 1840 but differing for some external characters and for the shape of the aedeagus, is described.

Key words: Lathrobium, new species, Umbria, Italy.
